Meet: Margarita S. A.
Life itself inspired me to become a Behavior Technician. I wanted to do something meaningful where I could help children grow, learn, and develop skills that can make a difference in their everyday lives.
What do you enjoy most about being a BT?
What I enjoy most about being a BT is helping children improve their skills day by day. Seeing their progress, even in the smallest steps, is very rewarding for me.
What’s been your most rewarding experience while working with our clients?
One of my most rewarding experiences has been seeing a client develop important skills that once seemed very difficult, including being able to communicate verbally and become more independent with using the bathroom. Seeing that progress has been incredibly meaningful to me.
What motivates you to make a difference each day?
What motivates me every day is working toward completing my clients’ programs and seeing their progress. Knowing that the work we do today can help them become more independent tomorrow keeps me motivated.
Fun Facts:
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, going to the beach, spending time with my friends and my children, and enjoying my home. I also love relaxing at home and watching movies.
What advice would you give someone who is considering becoming a Behavior Technician?
My advice is to do it because you truly feel it is something you want to do, not just because it is a job. It is a very rewarding profession, but it can also be challenging and emotionally demanding. You have to genuinely care about helping others and be willing to put your heart into the work.
